McLaren Technologies Deploys Cutting-Edge Gausium Cleaning Robots Across the Salter Brothers Accor Portfolio Encompassing Ten Accor Hotels in Australia

Phantas at Sebel Sydney

Sydney, Australia — 28 May, 2025  McLaren Technologies, as the Asia Pacific Hospitality Partner for SoftBank Robotics Australia Pty Ltd. is proud to announce the successful deployment of Gausium Phantas commercial cleaning robots across ten Accor-branded hotels owned by Salter Brothers. These advanced four-in-one cleaning robots, which vacuum, dust, mop, and sweep, are revolutionizing hotel operations while enhancing the guest experience.

The hotels now benefiting from the Phantas robots include Novotel Sydney City Centre, Mercure Melbourne Southbank, Mercure Sydney Blacktown, The Sebel Sydney Martin Place, Mercure Sydney Bankstown, Ibis Styles Sydney Central, Mercure Sydney Macquarie Park, Mercure Sydney Manly Warringah, Mercure Newcastle, Mercure Perth on Hay, and Mercure Brisbane Garden City.

The Salter Brothers Corporate team decided to implement robots across their Accor portfolio after successfully trialling the Phantas at one hotel and conducting a detailed return on investment and operational benefit analysis. By taking over mundane and repetitive cleaning tasks, the Phantas robots free up housekeeping staff to focus on more detailed and guest-focused responsibilities. This reallocation of effort not only improves staff efficiency but also elevates the overall guest experience.  The robots have also caught the attention of guests, who often find their presence both intriguing and delightful, adding a unique technological edge to their stay.

“Our partnership with Salter Brothers has given us the opportunity to bring cutting-edge technology to some of Australia’s most prominent hotels,” said Matthew White CEO at McLaren Technologies. “The Phantas robots are not just a tool for cleanliness—they’re transforming how housekeeping teams work, driving cost savings and operational productivity”

Kenichi Yoshida, Chief Business Officer at SoftBank Robotics Group, shared his thoughts “Our collaboration with McLaren Technologies marks a major leap for Australian hospitality. By combining the robotics with McLaren’s expertise, we’re setting a new standard for technology-driven service. This partnership paves the way for innovation in the hospitality sector and a more responsive service experience.”

Andrew Dunn, Portfolio Manager – Hotels at Salter Brothers remarked – “We are committed to providing an exceptional guest experience that extends beyond luxury accommodations to the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. By implementing robotics across our properties, we not only enhance the efficiency of our operations but also ensure that our guests enjoy spotless, hygienic rooms with minimal disruption. This investment in innovative technology reflects our dedication to maintaining high standards, improving sustainability, and delivering a seamless, top-tier experience for all who visit.”
